The centre console is between the commander├òs seat and the pilot├òs seat. This is where the main controls for the Shuttle├òs <a href="text">computer systems</a> are. From here the crew can control the digital autopilot, or DAP. The crew can also control the <a href="text">backup flight system</a>, or BFS from the centre console. The switches for emergency SRB and ET separation are located here as well.
